This Christmas Comic Is Good - Justice League Unlimited #16

This is another one of those comics that you just have to read with the idea in mind that the comic is not written for adult readers, nor is it meant for longtime readers. With that in mind, this is a very fun, enjoyable read, with a nice message included as well.

The comic is basically very straightforward. It is the ol' "Criminal escapes near Christmastime to visit his family, and the superheroes, after the find out, decide to help him out." I think this particular story has been done at least elenty-billion times in comics before, but for a new comic reader (especially a unperceptive child), the ending in this comic would still come as a welcome surprise.

The bad guy in the story is Girder (the Flash villain), and the heroes are all the younger members of the Justice League: Firestorm, Atom-Smasher (Jewish, but wearing a Christmas cap...something that we will see more of tomorrow), Stargirl, Power Girl and Supergirl, along with older member, Hawkgirl.

The fights are straightforward, but fun, and the overall message is a good one.

I cannot wait until writer Adam Beechen takes over Robin. I think he will do wonderful things on that title.

Carlo Barberi does a nice job on the art.

Power Girl? Isn't Power Girl a villain in JLU, and called Galatea?
