"Contingency Plans," My Butt.

Right now the DC universe, particularly the Justice League, is dealing with OMAC, a Batman "contingency plan" set loose upon them and resulting in deaths.

A few years ago, the Justice League was nearly destroyed in the "Tower of Babel" storyline, when Batman's "contingency plans" were set loose upon them.

"Contingency Plans?"

Oh come on.

Twice recently he's nearly killed the whole League. "Accidentally."

Or maybe not so...accidentally.

It's not like he doesn't have a history doing this sort of thing.

You know his dreams look just like this.

Jerky.

I keep telling people, they are set on a purpose. The purpose is to make everyone HATE Batman. I am sure one day someone in the editorial staff at DC will come clean about this, but until then..

I've been saying for a while it's Alfred who is behind all the shenannigans and everything in the DCU. He has access to the Bat-Secrets (how else do they keep getting out of the secure Bat-Computers), he was a spy, he was possessed by the alien Outsider, he manipulated a younf traumatized Bruce Wayne down a certain path...

The final issue of Infinite Crisis will probably go something like this...
Batman: "Not...YOU!"
Alfred: "Took you bloody well long enough to figure it out."

Now, if I was writing comics, I'd have concocted a plot in which Batman has devised a sure-fire way of screwing over the bad guys, which only works when the bad guys (inevitably) steal the plan and try to turn it against him, thus proving that he is always a step ahead of his foes. But I guess that's too smart an idea for the Bat writers, who are far too busy screwing up the supporting cast...

Well, one quick way to beef up the various lackluster rogues' galleries of DC heroes would be to make Batman a super-villain who's up against everyone.

In fairness though,I'm compelled to point out Batman didn't create the OMACS, he just created the satellite that would become Brother Eye. And it was more for observational purposes than for attack.

How do I know this? Um...eavesdropping? Crap. I've been found out.

That would be a plot twist of unparalleled genius.
